What is on the AQA 7357 mock
Your school writes or chooses your mock, so ask your teacher which papers and topics are in it. Most Year 13 mocks copy the real AQA A Level Maths exam, which is:
| Paper | Time | Marks | Calculator | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paper 1: Pure | 2 h | 100 | Allowed | One third |
| Paper 2: Pure and Mechanics | 2 h | 100 | Allowed | One third |
| Paper 3: Pure and Statistics | 2 h | 100 | Allowed | One third |
- Paper 1: Pure mathematics only.
- Paper 2: Section A is pure mathematics; Section B is mechanics.
- Paper 3: Section A is pure mathematics; Section B is statistics, including questions on AQA's large data set.
As listed on AQA's website. More on each paper: AQA 7357 past papers · AQA A Level Maths course guide · the AQA large data set.

The AQA 7357 mistakes that cost the most marks
From our summary of AQA’s published examiner reports for 7357. Check your mock against each one.
"Explain" and "interpret" answers without context
Fix: Answer in the context's words and units, give exactly what is asked (one reason means one), and link it to the numbers.
"Show that": skipped steps, working back from the answer, no final line
Fix: Start from the question, write every line, and end with exactly the printed result. If the answer is an equation, include "= 0".
Domain and range in set notation
Fix: Use braces, a variable and the right inequality: {x : x ≥ 3}. Check whether the end value is attained.
Mechanics: too many significant figures after using g = 9.8
Fix: After using g = 9.8, give answers to 2 or 3 s.f. with units. Exact multiples of g are usually fine.
Change of sign: incomplete conclusion
Fix: Rearrange to f(x) = 0, evaluate both ends, then state: sign change + f continuous on the interval ⇒ root in the interval.

Common questions
What is on the AQA A Level Maths mock exam?
Your school sets it, so check with your teacher. Most Year 13 mocks follow the real 7357 exam: Paper 1, Pure (2 hours, 100 marks); Paper 2, Pure and Mechanics (2 hours, 100 marks); Paper 3, Pure and Statistics (2 hours, 100 marks). A calculator is allowed in all three.
Is there a free AQA A Level Maths mock paper?
Yes. Our Predicted Paper 2027 is a free full 2-hour, 100-mark pure paper with a mark scheme: give your email and we send the link. Our mini-mocks are free to sit, and AQA publishes its own past papers on its website; our AQA 7357 past papers page links to each one.
Can I use a calculator in AQA A Level Maths?
Yes. A calculator is allowed in all three 7357 papers. Check the board's rules on which models are allowed, and practise with the one you will use.
How long should I revise for my AQA A Level Maths mock?
Two weeks is enough for a focused plan on the ten topics where students lose the most marks, then papers. Four weeks covers every topic and all three papers. Both plans are on this page.
Are these real AQA papers?
No. Our Predicted Paper 2027 and mini-mocks are written by us. For AQA's own past papers, use our past papers page, which links to the official copies.
