A Level Math Revision: calculator checklist for exam day
- Allowed. No CAS, no wireless, nothing stored: A Level calculator rules. The TMUA allows no calculator.
- Reset or exam mode. Do what your exams officer asks: reset it or use exam mode. Practise it once before the day.
- Batteries or charge. Fresh batteries or a full charge the night before, and spares if your calculator takes them.
- Angle mode. Radians for calculus, degrees for triangles and bearings. Check it at the start of every paper.
- Exact or decimal. Know the key that switches a fraction to a decimal: fractions and decimals.
- Nothing on it. No notes or formulas on the calculator or its cover.
- If it shows an error. Know what Math ERROR or ERR:DOMAIN means: error messages explained.

Every keystroke on this page comes from the manufacturer's own guide for that model, and every exam rule from the exam board's own document; each section names its source. Where we could not find a step in one of those documents, we have left it out. A Level Math Revision is independent and is not connected to Casio, Texas Instruments or any exam board.
